Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium is a material originally developed by the aerospace industry for jet engine components. Its properties are ideal for loudspeaker cones being extremely rigid, yet light enough to yield high overall efficiency. In manufacture, aluminium/magnesium alloy undergoes a three-stage stress-relieving process to remove surface deformation and molecular weakness. Once formed, the alloy cone is subjected to a high temperature anodic coating process in which a layer of pure ceramic alumina is depleted onto its surfaces to a depth of 50 microns, producing a completely rigid sandwich of alloy and heat-dissipating ceramic material.

Conventional cones are liable to flex or twist in operation, producing a significant level of audible distortion. C-CAM cones have a much higher resistance to bending stress and therefore exhibit much greater fidelity over their entire operating range. C-CAM tweeters and woofers share an audible consistency producing a smooth transition of frequencies and a sense of realism and cohesion in the soundstage.

Silver RS - RS8 - Review

“This is a loudspeaker with real balls, which consistently goes louder, deeper and fuller than you would reasonably credit from a box this size...on the plus side and it’s a very big plus indeed, the Silver RS8 has excellent timing. It simultaneously sounds measured and propulsive, with wonderfully ‘on the balls of the feet’ timing....This is a clean, agile and dynamic speaker...it conveys enthusiasm and drive.”

THESE SPEAKERS ARE ABOUT AS GEMINI AS I AM ... after sounding like an ice pick initially as they were coupled to my bright sony 5300 ... i was at the point of selling ... bi-wiring and a cable change helped ... but not as much as 3 months running in period ... wow what a remarkable difference over a wide genre of music ... 6 months later the tops were distinctly musical ... then i bi-amped ... these babies thrive on more power, just like Mike from Music at home always said ... absolutely amazing ... they have developed a whole new delightful personality ... bass notes are solid ...

These are the best mid-price speakers around a grand that I have heard, I previously owned a pair of Tannoy Eyris DC3 £1500 until my son popped both tweeters in, but these are a slight improvement at half the cost, add in kid friendly (nothing on show for them to destroy under the solid covers). Musically they rival speakers costing £1500-2000 they offer everything with nothing spared, go very loud and play chest thumping bass lines thats fast and acurate, but also good enough to sing delicately, sound well defined, very sweet and controlled, hollographic in fact, better 3d imagery than the Eyris which had a standard & super tweeter, the professional reviews lead me to buy these & I am bowled over, add in a exquisite finish, wife friendly good looking furniture and they delivery the full monty and some, I won't be changing these for a very long time. Thank you MA
