Super Sonic Value: "Monitor Audio's Affordable, Awesome Speaker Package"

“...the longer I listened, the more impressed I became by their unforced musicality and easy, natural dynamics.”

“The Monitor Audio aced it, with whistling that was even and bright without ever leaning toward the shrill on any one note (an excellent indication of smoothness in the top octaves of tweeter response), and with intact baritone breathiness that never tilted over the rasp of fizz.”

“In terms of vocal honesty and of midrange texture and detail, the Bronze BX2s sounded far, far more expensive than $500-ish per pair.”

“And the treble demands were met effortlessly: Horn attacks and drum transients sounded uniformly excellent.”

“The Monitor Audio supporting cast, comprising the BX Center and BXFX surrounds, provided solidly, unspectacularly competent reproduction - with the latter characterization meant in the best way.”

“The center-channel unit made an unusually close match with the BX2s and, when auditioned on-axis (from the center seating location), created a truly seamless “front stage.”

“The Monitor Audio array turned out to have plenty of reserves for louder fare like Godzilla - and the little BXW10 proved itself a gamer, willingly laying down a surprisingly solid basis for footballs, crashing buildings, and other assorted mayhem.”

“(Monitor Audio) should be proud to have produced a very well-balanced, highly musical, and attractive layout that delivers honest value and then some."

The Bronze Age Returns

“An equally strong element in Monitor’s corporate identity is a laudable commitment to value… Nowhere is this commitment more obvious than in the firm’s new “entry level” Bronze BX-series speakers”.

“Bronze BX models frankly do not look or sound like “entry level” products at all.”

“Bronze BX models offer an unusual degree of overall refinement and especially sonic coherency for their price - a quality that I’ve rarely heard so well executed in speakers in this price range.”

“The imaging characteristics of the Bronze models are astonishingly good.”

“The Bronze BX models sound more like the Silver RX range than not and for only a fraction of the price meaning that the Bronze BX offers superb sonic value for money.”

“The Bronzes conveyed qualities of spaciousness and dynamic expansiveness as few small systems can.”

“The sound of the vibes, as presented by the Bronze BX system, is simply gorgeous.”

“It is, quite simply, a brilliant success. The longer you listen to this system, the more “right” it sounds, and for not a lot of money.”

"Sounds almost as good as systems costing twice as much"

Reviewing a system of BX2s, BXFXs, a BX Centre and the BXW12 Subwoofer, Trusted reviews recommended this system, along with a 9/10 rating.

"Once again, Monitor Audio comes up trumps with a home cinema speaker system that delivers a detailed, powerful and seamlessly integrated sound...you don’t have to pay through the nose for this superb performance, which makes the Bronze BX2 AV a real bargain and one of the best speaker systems of 2010."

Really fab speakers blow away all competiton!

I have used these for my front and center setup. And they blow away most systems out there. You might think the range on the center doesn't go low enough to be front speakers but you would be wrong, because there are two drivers moving air at the same time. And when you stand it upright you get like a line array effect. Much use in most pa systems nowadays. And the fact that the cab is sealed you get a much more puncher tight pattern bass that travels a lot further. In fact the further you sit back, the better the low end gets. I made them set up all kind of speakers in my super fi, before I took these babies home. Plus they don't stick out too far past my led. And they look damn good with the grilles off. hope this helped you

Radius 200

Suggested upgrade

Radius 200

  • New to the Radius Range - ultra compact dedicated centre speaker
  • New Dual C-CAM® bass drivers with C-CAM tweeter in MTM style configuration - Radius features all new bass drivers with concave cone profiles, introduced by our top-of-the-range Platinum speakers and applied subsequently to Gold GX.  Extensive research and FEA modelling have allowed us to perfect the relationship between the new radiating diaphragm and its motor design, introducing larger motor sizes and voice coils for increased excursion, higher power capability and reduced distortion.
  • New C-CAM gold dome tweeter - optimised to deliver the finest and widest performance within the compact Radius cabinets. It benefits from a more efficient rear-venting design, releasing air trapped and compressed at the back of the tweeter dome, and guiding it around the drive assembly to a rear-loading chamber.
  • HiVe®II port design - Straight from Platinum’s design blueprint, the HiVe reflex port makes its Radius debut. It’s shaped to have the same effect on airflow as a gun-barrel on a bullet. Rifled grooves inside the port help to accelerate the flow and reduce turbulence, so air moves in and out of the port more efficiently, for a faster more dynamic bass response.
  • Single through-bolt driver fixing provides mechanical de-coupling and enhanced mid-band clarity and resolution. The through-bolts also act as rigid cross bracing to give a very solid non-resonant cabinet.

De-Tox CD

Custom-developed for Monitor Audio and utilising advanced simulation technology, the new De-Tox CD will help you to run-in your speakers in less time and more comprehensively than is possible with music or other burn-in signals.
