Celebrating an innovative synthesis of its highly successful ‘Radius’ and ‘CP’ product concepts, Monitor Audio brings to custom installers the ultimate compact architectural loudspeakers: Radius CP.

Driver technology refined to deliver the unparalleled sonic performance of Monitor Audio’s award-winning ultra-compact Radius loudspeakers has been applied to its successful Controlled Performance (CP) in-ceiling designs to render a completely new flush-mounting loudspeaker range for the most discrete installations. Each of the new three-strong Radius CP range is fitted with its own rigid enclosure to ensure that its exceptional sound remains consistent wherever it is installed.

The in-wall and in-ceiling models utilise a pivoting 20mm C-CAM® Gold Dome tweeter, derived from the remarkable Radius R45 hi-fi monitor - the smallest speaker Monitor Audio has ever made. Its pivoting action allows for the critical high frequencies (to 25kHz) to be directed toward the listening position for the most accurate imaging. Radius CP delivers added installation versatility by providing this feature from in-wall as well as in-ceiling locations.

Bass and mid-range frequencies are accurately reproduced by a 5” version of the acclaimed Radius MMP® II driver.

For Radius CP, Monitor Audio has combined the virtues of an award-winning ultra-compact loudspeaker range with the proven performance of its architectural designs to create a new, versatile, super-compact range of flush-mounting speakers, promising enhanced fidelity, increased dynamic range, higher sound pressure levels and ultimate control for the most discrete installations.

All Monitor Audio Controlled Performance in-ceiling/wall loudspeakers feature integral CP back boxes. These rigid, mineral-filled enclosures provide an ideal air load for the drivers, optimising midrange and bass performance while maintaining sonic consistency regardless of interior wall construction. The back box also retains the bass driver's backwave, limiting the transmission of sound to adjacent rooms.

Gold Dome C-CAM®

The gold dome tweeter is formed from a ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium alloy, gold anodised to a specific thickness for ideal stiffness and damping characteristics. Its new profile and surround geometry have been developed using advanced modelling tools, to provide the optimum qualities for accurate sound reproduction. The new design moves the first order of breakup to beyond 35kHz, producing a linear response way beyond audibility, which matches the wide frequency bandwidth available from HD music and cinema sound formats.

The gold dome is thinner, lighter, more rigid and therefore more efficient than domes made from other materials which are prone to distortion in the audio band.

MMP® II

MMP® II

Metal Matrix Polymer driver cones have a polypropylene base loaded with metallic particles to offer a rigid and responsive structure. They are manufactured using a sophisticated high-pressure injection process, which modulates cone thickness at critical points to optimise stiffness and consistency, resulting in a superior sonic performance.
